Theobroma Chocolat introduces new automated factory
Québec, August 24, 2020 – Theobroma Chocolat is proud to introduce its brand new state-of-the-art factory in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, which will allow it to triple its surface area and colossally improve its production. Thanks to investments of nearly $10 million, supported by numerous partners, the North American leader in healthy chocolate is ready to conquer new markets!
“This new factory, which includes automation and robotization technologies, is in complete harmony with our business philosophy which promotes the well-being of humans and that of the planet. All of our new ideas will be created and produced in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, in the Quebec region,” said Jean-René Lemire, President and co-founder.
Josée Vigneault and Jean-René Lemire, owners and co-founders of the company since 2008, have chosen to innovate while respecting their fundamental values. They rely on operational excellence, robotization and the automation of production functions with the aim to improve productivity and maximize the talent of all employees. Ultimately, this project will lead to the creation of several jobs.
These new ideas have come to fruition thanks to financial assistance from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), Canada Economic Development (CED), the National Bank of Canada, the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et la ‘Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ), the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Vision Québec 2023 (Ville de Québec).
